Major changes arrive with .Net Core 2 Preview 1... especially in ASP.Net...
This is an unexpected but possibly beneficial change; a single Meta Package that references everything related to ASP.Net core (including Entity Framework). At first I thought the concept of dumping a mass of packages onto a machine was no different to simply installing `full fat` .Net Framework... but this post eased some of my worries related to Docker, etc, and it seems to make sense.
No mention of any changes in terms of package delivery for, say, Xamarin, that I have heard of... and I certainly wouldn't expect any similar approach to that taken for ASP.Net.
With .Net Core 2, bringing back support for a huge number of APIs, and hopefully bringing some sanity to platform targeting with NetStandard 2 it seems Microsoft are finally getting it right...
